Tasks

Everything that waits.
Who and by when.

A post the client sent back for changes, a brief with no post yet, a comment someone has to answer. Kanso turns each into a task with a person and a deadline, and once the work is done, the task closes by itself.

Nobody writes them.
The work does.

Kanso checks where the work stands: posts waiting for a decision, briefs from a campaign, facts to confirm, files with no rights, comments passed to a teammate. Each is a task for as long as it waits, and your own go right next to them.

Sample tasks. Nothing is changed.

01Hand to hand

Nobody has to ask whose turn it is.

A task is always with whoever has the next move. When the client asks for changes, it goes to the author. Once the new version is sent, it waits for the client, and after the approval it's back with the author to set a date. Nobody passes it on by hand.

Done2

  • Tasks from the work close by themselves.

An approval, a reply to a comment or a confirmed fact moves the task to Done. There's no closing it just for show.

  • You tick off your own.

Tasks the team wrote go to Done when they're ready. If one has a file for review, the approval closes it.

03Questions and decisions

Chats lose decisions.
Tasks keep them.

Every task has its own conversation: questions with the answers under them, and what was agreed, there when you get back to the work. Mention someone with @ and they get a notification.

Can we use shots from Tuesday's session, or do we take new ones?

04Files for review

The task ends with someone's yes.

Your own task can carry photos or a video for review in the Review Room. While someone reviews them, the task is with them.

  • Add the files and choose who reviews them.
  • A request for changes sends the task back to you.
  • An approval closes it by itself.

05With the assistant

One shoot, several tasks.
The assistant splits it up.

Ask the assistant to break something bigger into steps. Each step gets a person and a day, and once you say yes, they're on the task list and on the calendar, next to the posts.
