The best size for an Instagram post is 1080 × 1350 px (4:5). Stories and reels are 1080 × 1920 px (9:16), and a square post 1080 × 1080 px.

The profile grid shows posts at 3:4, so a 1080 × 1440 post shows whole there. Every picture in a carousel is cropped to the shape of the first.
