Question 1

Why does X count my post differently from other counters?

Accepted Answer

X weighs characters. A link always counts as 23, however long it is, and emoji and Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters count as 2. The counter above counts the same way.

Question 2

Can a post on X be longer than 280 characters?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with any X Premium plan: up to 25,000. In the feed a long post folds after 280 characters and shows “Show more”.

Question 3

How long can an X bio and name be?
